January – The Month of New Beginnings
It is indeed because of the opportunity and optimism that January
brings that gives us the hope that we still have a chance to achieve our goals.
For those wanting to lose weight, this is when the reset button is pushed. The
same is true for those wanting to fix their finances to save more money, those
wanting to put more time aside for themselves, and so and so on.
As I too fall into more than one of the above examples, allow
me to encourage you (us) in making sure that what we set aside to do this year,
we actually succeed in. Below is my three-step plan in seeing my goals to fruition.

Write it down – writing them down on
paper makes it more attainable then just thinking about it.

Start on it – Once you have written it
down, start working towards it. One step at a time, even if it is just for a few
minutes, do something.

Celebrate milestones – celebrate any milestone,
big or small. Sometimes waiting to have big moments before celebrating can be downright
frustrating because of how long it takes to get to that point.
